The Opal is a solid natural Sandstone Opal Matrix. Beautiful flickers of red , orange, yellow and green opal colours twinkle happily around the opal.
The Opal Matrix was mined in western Queensland. near the town of Winton.
Fairy Opal is the name given to natural sandstone opal matrix (sandstone with speaks of opal colour) that has been cooked and burnt with cooking oil to blacken the sandstone, which in turn, makes it easier to see the opal colours.
