This beautiful Sandstone Opal Matrix (fairy opal) necklace, is made with hand shaped and polished Opal beads, each opal bead has its own unique opal colour, the opal beads have beautiful blue and green colours.
The Opal Matrix was mined in Western Queensland near the town of Winton.
Fairy Opal is the name given to natural sandstone opal matrix (sandstone with speaks of opal colour) that has been cooked and burnt with cooking oil to blacken the sandstone, which in turn, makes it easier to see the opal colours.
The toggle clasp is made of silver, and a strong metal thread has been used to thread the opals.
A certificate of authenticity stating that the opals in the necklace are Natural Solid Australian Opal is included.
The Necklace is 18"(45m) long.
